Army’s Iqbal bags gold in ski championship
Mohammad Iqbal wins gold medal in National Ski Championship Slalom event.
KARACHI:
Pakistan Army’s Mohammad Iqbal won a gold medal on the second day of the National Ski Championship Slalom event being held in Naltar Gigit.
While Iqbal finished first with 100 points, Mir Nawaz junior (80) and Mir Nawaz senior (60) bagged silver and bronze medals respectively for Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts (GBS).
GBS lead the overall championship with 340 points, while Army stand second with 272 and Pakistan Air Force (Paf) are placed third with 251.
“GBS came as a surprise to us,” Paf group captain Sohail Naeem told The Express Tribune. “This is because mostly its our team or Army who leads the championship.
“But it’s just the first tournament of the season, and we are looking forward to winning the CJCSC Championship that begins tomorrow.”
