Indo-Pak Express rolls into Dubai quarters
Aisam, Bopanna defeat Nieminen, Troicki in the first round.
The Indo-Pak Express consisting of Pakistan tennis star Aisamul Haq Qureshi and his Indian counterpart Rohan Bopanna cruised into the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles in the Dubai Open, according to the tournament’s website.
Qureshi and Bopanna, who are currently the 14th-ranked team, defeated Jarkko Nieminen of Finland and his Serb partner Viktor Troicki 7-5, 3-6, 10-7.
The duo, who reached the US Open men’s doubles final last year, will now face Frenchman Jeremy Chardy and Spaniard Feliciano Lopez in the quarter-final. The winning team will win a prize-money of $114,500.
