Immunisation: Three-day polio drive on Nov 23

A three-day special polio campaign will kick off on November 23 with the target to immunise 580,683 children in the Dera Ghazi Khan district against the crippling disease.

The district administration has formed 1,451 polio vaccination teams to achieve the target and also ordered focusing on micromanagement of the security measures.

DCO Nadeem Rahman Muqam chaired a meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee on Friday where he said every child up to five years of age must be given polio drops along with proper registration of nomadic tribe people.He ordered special immunisation measures at the entry and exit points of the district as well as the airport, railway stations and other public places. For the latest police campaign, 1,304 mobile teams, 266 area supervisors and 74 medical officers have been deputed.

Keeping in view the change in weather and movement of people from mountainous areas, the meeting was informed that the gypsy settlements were being registered.
