The Met Office has predicted drizzles in some areas of the country, including the provincial capital of Punjab, for Saturday that may help dissipate the smog enveloping Lahore and its adjoining districts. A Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) spokesperson said on Thursday that continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country but a westerly wave was expected to affect the upper and central parts of Pakistan during the next 24 hours. Cloudy weather conditions with a chance of light rain is likely in isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal divisions and Islamabad on Saturday. The shallow fog is expected to continue in the plains of Faisalabad, Lahore and Bahawalpur divisions during the morning hours. The temperature is also expected to drop by 2 degree celsius after the showers.
