In custody: Four human traffickers arrested
FIA officials said the suspects were wanted for swindling innocent people
ISLAMABAD:
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested a suspected human trafficker who had been wanted by the agency since 1998. Three other traffickers were also arrested in raids by the agency.
Raja Shaukat Ali, the suspect, was arrested during a raid. He was subsequently booked by the agency for illegally sending people abroad. The three other suspected human traffickers caught by the FIA during separate raids were identified as Altaf Hussain, Mushtaq Ahmed Daar, and Khalid Mehmood.
FIA officials said the suspects were wanted for swindling innocent people out of large amounts of money on the premise of providing them with employment overseas.
Officials said that Hussain had been booked in a human trafficking case in 2012 and had since been put on the agency’s ‘most wanted’ list. He took around Rs3.2 million from various people and promised to send them to the UK.
