The museum was supposed to be built over an area of eight acres and was designed accordingly
ISLAMABAD:
The PC-II for redesigning of National Museum of Pakistan has received the final nod from the Departmental Development Working Committee (DDWP) and will be submitted to the Planning Division soon.
The museum was supposed to be built over an area of eight acres and was designed accordingly, but now the land allocation has been cut down to three acres, which requires redesigning the layout of the facility, a senior official said.
National History and Literary Division, Joint Secretary Mashhood Mirza, confirmed the approval of PC-II for redesigning of the National Museum of Pakistan and said: “it would be submitted to Planning Division shortly”.
He said the redesigning of the museum was a low cost project of Rs2.6 million, so it was submitted to the departmental committee for approval.
