Accountability time: Police officers punished for poor performance
Sukkur SSP warns officials to improve or face consequences for inefficiency

Taking notice of the poor performance of the police, Sukkur SSP Amjad Ahmed Shaikh gave various major and minor punishments to police officials during a meeting on Monday.
The punishment was awarded to the police officials on public complaints, poor performance and corruption. During the performance evaluation meeting, various police officers throughout the district were evaluated for their work and those who were found guilty of not giving good performances were given punishments.
The SSP issued orders to forfeit one year service of sub-inspectors Ali Murtaza Mahar, Habibullah Mahar, Iqbal Domki and Siraj Kumbhar, on the charges of public complaints and poor performance.
Similarly, the SHOs of B section police station, Sukkur, and Bagirji and head constables of Rohri, Tamachani and Mubarakpur were suspended for not addressing public complaints. The SSP also ordered to forfeit two-year service of Tamachani head constable, one-year service of head constables of Baiji and Sukkur C section police stations.
Besides this, one-year service of Tamachani and Qadrapur SHOs was also forfeited. Warnings were issued to Abad SHO and 15 incharge to improve their performances.
During the meeting, the SSP urged all the DSPs, SHOs and other officials to implement the National Action Plan in letter and spirit. He warned the officials that any laxity in this regard will not be tolerated. The SSP also ordered them to address public complaints on a priority basis and take effective measures to control the crime rate in their respective areas.
He made it clear that those exhibiting low performance will not be spared and the officials who work with honesty and dedication will be rewarded.
