Disaster management: 20 day workshop kicks off
The purpose of these workshops is to increase the capacity of officials to provide better response during disasters.
PESHAWAR:
A 20-day workshop began here to build the capacity of the district administration, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) & Provincial Reconstruction, Rehabilitation & Settlement Authority (PaRRSA) staff. The workshop has been organised by PaRRSA with the assistance of UNDP. Around 180 officials from various departments are participating in different sessions of the workshop.
The purpose of these workshops is to increase the capacity of officials to provide better response during disasters and improve relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction activities.
The first phase of the workshop is from February 21 to 23 and the same will restart for another group of participants from February 24 to 26 on Disaster Risk Management.
Similarly, the third phase will run from February 29 to March 2 on Gender Sensitization and the fourth phase on Gender Mainstreaming will be from March 3-5. The final workshop on Project Management Cycle and Workplace Efficiency Enhancement Tools will run from
March 7 to 15.
