BAHAWALPUR:
The sesquicentennial celebrations of the Lahore High Court (LHC) in Bahawalpur were held in the garden of the historic palace, Noor Mahal, on Saturday night.

“Right from the time [in 1800s] when LHC started as the chief court, it has come a long [way],” chief guest of the event, LHC Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, said while speaking on the occasion. “These celebrations reflect the collective and glorious heritage of the court and are held to pay tribute to the towering personalities from the bar and the bench.”

While speaking about the delivery of justice, Shah emphasised the need to solve cases within the stipulated period of six months. He said this would bring solace to the people as they will get justice in a short span of time, instead of having to wait for generations to get justice.

At the beginning of celebrations, a display of colorful lights and music was presented to the audience which was highly enjoyed. Later, a symposium was held in connection with the sesquicentennial celebrations.
