3 ‘militants’ killed in Bolan gunfight
They said the search operation was launched by paramilitary troops and intelligence agency personnel
QUETTA:
Three suspected militants and a police head constable were killed in two separate incidents of violence in Balochistan on Saturday.
Officials said the militants were killed in a search operation conducted jointly by the Frontier Corps and an intelligence agency in the mountainous Mushkaf area of Bolan district.
They said the search operation was launched by paramilitary troops and intelligence agency personnel, who cordoned off the hilly area between Mushkaf and Aab-e-Gum.
The spokesman described the militants as members of a banned outfit who were involved in the attack on a Rawalpindi-bound passenger train in Aab-e-Gum area on October 7.
Meanwhile, armed motorcyclists gunned down a police head constable in the Wali Khan area of Mastung district on Saturday. Police said Muhammad Ashraf was targeted on his way home.
