SIALKOT: Two laborers died while two others were injured when a wall adjacent to an under-construction plaza collapsed in Lahai Bazaar within the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station on Saturday.

According to police, the labourers were working at the plaza when suddenly the wall of an adjoining building collapsed during digging.

As a result, four labourers were buried under the debris.

Two of them, identified as Muhammad Ejaz and Muhammad Bashir, died on the spot while Allah Bakhash and Noshi were critically injured.

Rescue 1122 rushed to the site and pulled out the victims after some hectic efforts.

Administrator Tehsil Municipal Administration Dr Umer Sher Chathha said that it was apparently the mistake of builders. However, a three-member inquiry committee, headed by TMO Zafar Qureshi, had been formed to probe the incident. The bodies and injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
