KHAIRPUR:
A narcotics peddler was sentenced on Saturday to 25 years in prison and was directed to pay a fine of Rs30,000. Anti-narcotic court Khairpur's special judge Ashiq Ali Ghori announced the judgment in a narcotics case after the prosecution was able to prove its allegations. He handed down the 25-year jail sentence to Noor Ahmed, son of Nek Muhammad Golo, and also imposed a fine of Rs30,000 on him. In case of failure to pay the fine, the convict will have to serve an additional sentence of three months. The court sent the accused to jail custody amidst heavy security. The accused was arrested by excise police in Kotdiji two years ago after a raid on National Highway. Sixty kilogrammes of hashish was recovered from his possession.
