Munter meets Awan: US engages legal counsel for Davis
The US has finally engaged a legal counsel for Davis, says US Embassy.
ISLAMABAD:
The US has finally engaged a legal counsel for Davis, said US Embassy acting spokesperson Courtney Beale while talking to The Express Tribune.
“We cannot disclose the names but yes we did work to find the right person,” Beale added. No lawyer has represented Davis so far, as the US claims the court proceedings are not in line with international laws.
Beale also confirmed that US Ambassador Cameron Munter met Law Minister Babar Awan on Monday to discuss legal issues pertaining to the Davis case, but declined to disclose details of the meeting.
