LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has gone to the court, saying development projects in Lahore were to blame for the prevailing smoggy conditions.

PTI leader Waleed Iqbal has filed a petition in the LHC against haphazard development, especially the Lahore Metro’s Orange Line project, stating it was causing pollution.

The petitioner alleged the smog enveloped Lahore and affected 10 million people but the government failed to take any concrete measures.

Iqbal added that illegal factories functioning in Lahore were also affecting the city’s atmosphere.

He requested the court to order the government to take appropriate measures to control pollution and make the atmosphere clean for the public to breathe.
