GUJRANWALA: A four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a neighbour in Farid Town on Monday.

The suspect, Rashid Javaid, 25, managed to escape before police’s arrival. He had rented the house from Muhammad Haneef a week ago. Satellite Town police took the house owner into custody for questioning.

Girl’s father, Shahbaz, told The Express Tribune he heard her child’s shouts in the afternoon and rushed out to look for her. He said the screams led him to his neighbour’s house. He said he was shocked to see the man allegedly trying to rape her daughter. “I rushed to rescue her and he (Javaid) escaped in the meanwhile,” he said.  Satellite Town police had not filed a case till the filing of the report. SHO Sarfaraz Seikho said he would file the FIR once the child’s medical examination was conducted.

maria iram | 13 years ago | Reply well, in reply to Mr.Muhammad Umar: a Muslim is a firm believer of Allah and prophet PBUH. a man who attempts to rape a small child just to satisfy his animal instincts can not be termed as a Muslim. Pakistan is an Islamic state but is short of Muslims. and for all those who believe that the suicide bombing is the act of Muslims: Islam never allows to hurt yourself. the people especially the youngsters involved are brainwashed and are taught that this act will lead them to heaven, a wrong perception of course! this is done just to get their work done. the lack of proper Islamic institutions adds to this act. thanks to our education system which doesn't teach the children properly what exactly is Islam.as every American is not a christian similarly every Pakistani is not a Muslim and esp those who don't abide by the teachings of holy Quran.
