Back on duty: Sukkur DIG reinstates 10 sacked policemen

Officers were removed due to cases against them, corruption

After hearing the cases of various policemen, the Sukkur DIG ordered the reinstatement of 10 police officials who were removed from service for a variety of reasons.

Sukkur DIG Captain (retd) Feroze Shah heard the appeals of 46 police officials, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, head constables and constables. After going through their cases and the appeals, the DIG ordered the reinstatement of 10 policemen, including one head constable. The reinstated policemen included head constable Mumtaz Ali Chachar from Ghotki, police constable Gulab Ali Khaskheli from Sukkur and police constables Mohammad Bux Memon, Niaz Hussain Solangi, Mohammad Azeem Mari, Shahid Ali, Nazar Hussain, Asif Ali, Ghulam Akbar and Fazal Kareem from Khairpur. These officials were removed from service due to different reasons such as court cases, corruption and irresponsible attitude towards the public. The reinstated officials will only have to face minor punishments for their infractions, such as suspension of increments for one or two years.

The DIG also ordered the reinstatement of two suspended officials, while the appeals of two officials were rejected and they were given final show-cause notices. Besides this, he also ordered the release of salaries of different policemen, who were awaiting posting. He also issued transfer and posting orders for some officials in the district.


On this occasion, the DIG told all the police officials in Sukkur district that they can approach him regarding their problems and appeals every Tuesday. Shah urged the officials to discharge their duties with utmost honesty and dedication and refrain from wrongful activities.

The DIG, expressing zero tolerance for black sheep in the department, said those found indulging in wrongful activities will be punished and those showing good performance will be rewarded.
