The party officials said that Senator Ghani may win the race

KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) shortlisted the candidates for central Punjab and Sindh leadership on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference at the Sindh Secretariat, along with Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto's political secretary, Jameel Soomro, announced the names of Qamar Zaman Kaira, Raja Parvez Ashraf and Nadeem Afzal Chan for central Punjab.  Party officials told The Express Tribune that Kaira is a strong candidate and the party will nominate him as Punjab president.

Meanwhile, the names of Waqar Mehdi, Senator Saeed Ghani, and Sindh Assembly deputy speaker Shehla Raza have been shortlisted for the post of Karachi division president. The party officials said that Senator Ghani may win the race. Meanwhile, four names have been shortlisted for the position of Sindh secretary-general. CM adviser on law, Murtaza Wahab, Waqar Mehdi and Rashid Rabbani are in the race. Wahab may clinch this position, said officials.
