PTI turns ‘lockdown’ to ‘thanksgiving’ day following top court’s verdict on Panamagate scandal
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has said he’s waiting for the day when the present rulers, the Sharifs, are put behind bars.
He was addressing the party’s Youm-e-Tashkkur or ‘Thanksgiving’ rally, a day after he abruptly called off a planned "lockdown" of the federal capital after the Supreme Court paved the way for an investigation into allegations of corruption against the prime minister's family.
He said Pakistan had changed as Supreme Court as begun investigating the prime minister.
“I want to convey this message to my people… Pakistan has changed as Supreme Court will start investigating Nawaz [Sharif] from tomorrow,” he said, adding that if the premier did not shun using force against his party workers, he will take to the streets and encircle police stations.
