LAHORE: The protests by doctors along with another on by the students of Bahauddin Zakariya University left vehicles stuck in a massive traffic jam on the city’s thoroughfares, mainly Mall and Canal roads. The Mall Road was closed for YDA’s protest, leading to traffic load on adjacent routes, including Queen’s, Lawrence and Davis roads. On the other hand, students of BZU took to Canal Road, another major artery of the city. They kept the route blocked over their demands.  Bumper-to-bumper traffic was observed from Dharampura Underpass to Doctors Hospital Underpass. The city traffic police spokesperson said they set 15 diversion points and deployed 278 extra wardens, 21 patrolling officers, four fork-lifters and 13 traffic inspectors under supervision of two superintendents of police.

These protesters should be removed by force rather than closing down major roads. What is this sick culture? This happens nowhere else.
