LAHORE: The Lahore and Weihai chambers of commerce have signed an agreement to promote mutual cooperation in the sectors of construction, infrastructure, agriculture, livestock, renewable energy, mining, information technology, textile, machinery and chemical.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on Saturday between the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Weihai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A 12-member delegation led by Weihai Federation of Industry & Commerce Vice-Chairman Xia Zhongping had meetings with their Pakistani counterparts. Both the chambers will jointly organise events, trade fairs and exchange programmes.

LCCI President Abdul Basit said the visit of Chinese delegation would help the businessmen explore the trade and investment opportunities. “The increase in frequency of trade delegations from China to Pakistan shows that Chinese private sector is taking keen interest in developing trade and investment relations with Pakistani,” he added.
