Diwali Festivities: Monday holiday for Hindus

“This is a gift of the Pakistan Peoples Party government for you" says CM

KARACHI: Wishing Hindus a Happy Diwali, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced on Saturday that Monday will be a holiday for members of the community. During a meeting at CM House, he said that Diwali was falling on Sunday, already a public holiday. “[Therefore] I am giving you Monday as holiday,” he said while addressing the Hindu community residing in the province. “This is a gift of the Pakistan Peoples Party government for you. I am with you in Diwali celebrations. Enjoy with your family, relatives and community.”
