LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the people threatening to shut down Islamabad want to hamper the process of national development and prosperity and it is regrettable that conspiracies are being hatched within the country. In a statement on Friday, the CM said there was no justification in closing Islamabad after the beginning of Panama leaks case in the Supreme Court. “Those involved in politics of allegations, lies and falsehood are trying to mislead the masses and have resorted to undemocratic, unconstitutional and unethical tactics,” he was quoted as saying. “People already know that Niazi sahib [Imran Khan] is not interested in the development of the country. The enlightened people are disgusted with the negative politics of such defeatist elements,” he added. The CM said the conspiracy to destroy peace and destabilise the country would not succeed as the people are fully aware of negative designs of these elements.
