PESHAWAR:
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday said those who want to shut down the federal capital on the pretext of forcing out corrupt rulers were themselves involved in corruption.

“Those who were demanding a probe into the Panama leaks by the Supreme Court didn’t show the courtesy to take the issue of accountability in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to the high court,” Fazl said while addressing ‘Paigham-e-Amn’ conference.

The JUI-F leader said when fingers were pointed towards the K-P chief minister and he was almost arrested, amendments were made to the Ehtesab law and the DG was forced to resign.

Fazl claimed that the sit-in was not directed against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif; rather, it is to pressurise the Supreme Court. “But let me tell them, no one in this country can weaken democracy and pressurise the judiciary.”
