Sindh Bank opens branch in Karachi
This is the second branch of the bank after the first branch was opened in Naudero on December 26, 2010.
KARACHI:
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah inaugurated a branch of Sindh Bank at II Chundrigar Road on Saturday.
This is the second branch of the bank, set up by the Sindh government, after the first branch was opened in Naudero on December 26, 2010.
At the inauguration ceremony, attended by bank officials and members of the Sindh cabinet, Bank President Bilal Shaikh disclosed plans to open 50 branches in different districts of the province. The bank plans to hire more than 1,000 people by the end of the year.
Qaim Ali Shah said that people from the lower middle class will benefit from the bank as it will provide loans to farmers and businessmen from small and medium enterprises. “There will be no political influence in the bank and it will operate purely on professional lines,” he added.
