LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge has sought comments from the Tibbi City SHO in a petition filed against 94 respondents, including 40 policemen, seeking action against them for not recovering the Nailain Pak – the holy shoes worn by Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH). The relics were stolen on July 31, 2002 from the Badshahi Mosque and have not been recovered yet. Petitioners Pir Saleem Abbas Jafri and Khalid Mehmood submitted that the holy shoes were stolen in connivance with the respondents, including the then caretakers of the mosque. They added the suspects neither filed a case before any court nor did they conduct any investigation to probe the matter. The petitioners requested the court to hold an impartial inquiry into the case, and order the police high-ups to take strict action against the respondents.
