LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered stringent security measures for the protection of life and property of people, directing police and law enforcement agencies to remain alert for maintaining peace.

He issued the directives on Tuesday while presiding over a meeting of the provincial cabinet committee on law and order.

CM Shahbaz said a vigilant eye should be kept on miscreants and security of important places should be further improved. Special attention should be paid to the security of mosques, imambargahs, worship places, educational institutions and parks.

He said all institutions should perform their duties with mutual coordination to foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists.

The meeting participants strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the police training centre in Quetta and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious human lives.
