Unpaid dues: Regular teachers join daily wagers in strike
Capital’s school and colleges already on a strike since October 5 for not being paid wages for four months

Students of over 20 model schools and colleges in the capital were left in the lurch on Tuesday after regular staff at these educational institutions joined the daily wage staff in a strike.
The striking daily wage staff also staged a sit-in outside the Federal Directorate of Education in which some of the teachers were briefly detained.
The regular staff went on strike against their long overdue promotions and to support an ongoing protest by daily wage staffers who have been demanding their unpaid dues.
With the non-teaching staff and teachers on daily wages at the capital’s school and colleges already on a strike since October 5 for not being paid wages for four months, students on Tuesday were left completely unattended.
