Tahirul Qadri joins hands with Imran Khan for Islamabad siege
PTI chairman welcomes PAT chief’s decision to join the anti-government protest
LAHORE:
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Tahirul Qadri has announced to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the latter’s quest to lockdown Islamabad on November 2.
PTI chief Imran Khan spoke to Qadri on telephone, and welcomed the PAT chief’s decision to join the anti-government protest planned for November 2, PAT spokesperson Noorullah Siddiqi told The Express Tribune.
“I have told Imran that PAT will participate in PTI’s Nov 2 sit-in. The modalities of the cooperation between the two parties, however, will be finalised in the next few days,” Qadri told a private news channel over the phone from Jordan.

Siddiqi added that till now, Qadri’s participation was not possible as he had engagements in Jordan, London and Morocco, however, a meeting between the two parties will be held soon.
PAT Secretary General Khurrum Nawaz Gandapur said Qadri had accepted Imran's invitation, and the party wanted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to be held accountable.
Meanwhile, the PTI has already won ‘unconditional support’ of the PML-Q for its forthcoming protest.
The PTI is up for a final showdown next month, vowing to lock down the capital until the prime minister resigns or presents himself for an impartial and swift investigation into alleged offshore business as revealed in the Panama Papers.
