The Punjab Agriculture Department has evolved a plan to improve crop productivity through soil diagnostics and to promote a balanced use of macro and micro fertilisers across the province. Agriculture department officials said on Sunday that as part of the plan, special steps were being taken to facilitate farmers through modernised extension service in Punjab. Under the programme, soil sampling kits had been distributed, while motorcycles had also been provided to the extension agents across Punjab.
