The world’s oldest aircraft carrier INS Viraat was given a grand farewell on Sunday after it served for more than five decades in India.

The aircraft carrier served Indian navy for 30 years and British Royal Navy for 27 years, Times of India reported.

Having been accorded a send-off, it is expected to be decommissioned at the end of the year.

Reports suggested Indian navy has agreed to give the aircraft carrier to Andhara Pradesh government to 'promote tourism'.
