School timings announced for winter

LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has issued a notification stating new summer and winter timings for 2016-17 session of schools across the province and has directed all education EDOs to implement the timings at all schools in their jurisdictions.



In winter, girls’ schools would commence on weekdays at 8:15am and continue until 2:15pm while boys’ schools would start at 8:30am and end at 2:30pm. On Fridays, the SED has announced that school timings for girls’ schools would be 8:15am to 12:15pm while boys’ schools would start at 8:30am and end at 12:30pm. All schools will observe recess from 12:35pm to 1:15pm.



The winter timings will remain enforced till April 15, 2017. The notification also issued summer timings for schools which will be observed from April 16 until October 15. The weekday school timings for girls’ schools will be 7:45am until 1:15pm while boys’ schools will commence at 8am and end at 1:30pm.
