Disabled cricket: Alam heroics guide Pakistan to 35-run win
Makes 22 runs and claims three wickets to defeat Bangladesh

An all-round performance by Nihaar Alam guided Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team to a 35-run win over Bangladesh Physically Disabled team in their second fixture of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy Physically Disabled T20 Tournament at the ICC Academy Cricket Ground in Dubai yesterday.
Chasing 141, Bangladesh were restricted to 105 despite a 36-run knock by Uniruzzaman as slow left-armer Alam, with his man of the match performance, took three wickets, while Abdullah Ijaz, Jahanzaib Tiwana and Fayyaz Ahmed claimed two wickets apiece.
Alam was delighted to contribute to the win and be declared the man of the match. “It feels great to win my first ever man of the match award while representing Pakistan. This has increased my confidence and I am hoping to perform well in the next matches as well.”
Earlier, Pakistan posted a total of 140-7 as Rehan Ghani Mirza struck three fours on his way to a 35-ball 45-run knock, while Hasnain Alam made 24 and Adil Abbasi and Alam contributed 22 runs each.
For Bangladesh, off-spinner Musharaf Hossain captured two wickets giving away eight runs while Alam Khan, Drupom Patron and Akber Khan took one wicket each.
Pakistan will now face Bangladesh again on October 22 in the morning and then after an hour’s gap, will face England in their third fixture. The top two team with the most wins and higher run rate will make it to the finals.
