Physical remand of suspects extended
Granting the NAB’s plea, the court directed NAB officials to produce them before the court on March 4.
LAHORE:
An Accountability Court on Friday extended the physical remand of Haji Bashir Ahmed and Shaukat Warraich, alleged accomplices of Syed Sibtul Hassan Gillani alias Double Shah by 14 days.
The men, believed to have played a part in the money scam, were handed over to the NAB. On Friday, NAB authorities produced both the suspects before the court and sought an extension in their physical remands to carry out further investigations.
Granting the NAB’s plea, the court directed NAB officials to produce them before the court on March 4.
NAB Punjab is investigating Syed Sibtul Hassan Gillani alias Double Shah and others for cheating public at large, parallel banking and criminal breach of trust.
The bureau says that Ahmed and Warraich were part of a team that got Rs100 million out of the Double Shah Scam.
