24 injured in Faisalabad Basant celebrations
Despite a ban by the government on kite flying, the festival was celebrated in different areas of the city.

Twenty four people were injured in Faisalabad on Friday during Basant celebrations which happened despite a ban imposed by the Punjab government on the festival.
The reported injury incidents were related to aerial firing and the use of glass and chemical coated strings with kites.
The incidents happened after people defied the Basant ban imposed by the Punjab government.
The Punajb Government last week announced the decision to retain the ban on kite flying and Basant after the Kite flying association had asked the government to reconsider the ban.
People in various areas of Faisalabad celebrated basant today with police arresting 35 people and seizing chemical-coated strings and kites from their possession.
