Spanish giants Barcelona are keeping an eye on the performances of Manchester United teenage star Angel Gomes, Daily Mail reported Monday.
The 16-year-old is a first-year scholar in United’s U-18 side and Barca are monitoring him for an impending transfer.
Gomes, who is tied to the English club till 2018, has caught the eye of many with his skills after he debuted at the age of 14 for United and also made it into the England U-17 side.
“I have really high hopes for Gomes' progress,” said academy boss Nicky Butt.
Gomes, in just a week’s time, scored a hat-trick off the bench against Everton U-18 side, captained the England U-17s side and also turned 16.
He is the son of Gil Gomes who played as a forward for the Portuguese youth team.
