GILGIT:
At least 20 passengers, heading from Gilgit-Baltistan to Rawalpindi via Babusar road, were robbed late Sunday night by armed bandits near Lulusar area in Kohistan. According to passengers, the masked gunmen intercepted them on a deserted stretch of road and held them at gunpoint and took away their mobile phones, jewelry and other valuables from passengers before fleeing. The distraught passengers approached the Kohistan police to lodge a complaint, but they claimed that the police brushed them off. “When we approached police to launch a report about the dacoity, they suggested that we run for our lives,” Shakir, a passenger told the complaint cell of G-B chief minister office by phone.
