‘Pakistani govt working on Bahrain-funded varsity’

Informs Bahraini officials that land for the project has been identified

ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Health Services, Saira Afzal Tarar on Monday said that the government has started working on establishment of a new medical institution in the federal capital with funds donated by Bahrain.

The institution of learning being gifted by Bahrain will produce high quality professionals, she said while speaking to Maj-Gen Dr Shaikh Salman bin Ateytallah Al Khalifa, Chief Executive, King Hamad University Hospital in Bahrain.

“We are looking at an early date for groundbreaking of this project and would request high level participation from the Bahrain side,” she said According to a fax message received from Bahrain.



“We are mindful of the need to maintain highest quality of education at par with international standards in the university as envisioned by the King of Bahrain,” Tarar told Dr Shaikh Salman.

She told the Bahraini dignitary that around 237 kanals of land has been allocated in Park Road area for this purpose by the government. The land is in close proximity with National Institute of Health and Health Service Academy.

The minister said that Capital Development Authority (CDA) has given the final approval for land acquisition with costing which will be paid by the government.

abood | 7 years ago | Reply @alt.we can open it in thar also.but do you have kids going to schools there that they could apply.so its better to build where kids go to schools and where parents work hard to send kids to school.lets not waste money by making universities where no one will enroll.yess.we should make schools in such areas so later we can make universities too.
