Alternative medicine practitioner advises people to adopt healthy habits
SUKKUR:
Many people are facing health issues because of their unhealthy lifestyles which includes excessive intake of junk food, said Dr Najmut Tariq, the founder of Pakistan Institute of Medical Advancement.
He was talking to The Express Tribune while taking a round of the free medical camp of alternative medicines for cancer and heart patients established at Cure Centre Sukkur on Monday.
Dr Tariq has studied alternative medicine from the Capital University of Integrative Medicines in Washington, USA. After practicing in the US for around 35 years, he has returned to Pakistan to treat and help people here.
While checking patients suffering from cancer and heart diseases, he advised them to take half teaspoon of bitter almond oil twice a day because it has the potential to kill cancer and other germs.
Talking about healthy foods, he said wheat flour is good for consumption but it contains high levels of sugar so patients should eat gram flour sometimes. Strongly opposing the use of vanaspati oil (hydrogenated oil) and ghee, he advised that it is better to use mustard oil. Not only will mustard oil keep you fit but it also works as a resistant to many diseases.
The four things which the body doesn't naturally produce are vitamin C, copper, gelatin and aloe vera. For vitamin-C, it is best to consume lemon while copper deficiency can be overcome by cod liver oil capsules. As far as gelatin is concerned, it is found in jelly and goat feet. Aloe vera is quite common in Pakistan and is easily available, he added.
Speaking about alternative medicine, he remarked that he uses allopathic, homeopathic and herbal medicines for the treatment of various diseases. Allopathic medicines have their side-effects which in some cases are quiet hazardous and therefore we have switched to alternative medicines which are natural with no side-effects.
