Back To The Front: Anwar to be reinstated as Malir SSP
A notification in this regard is expected to be issued soon
KARACHI:
A month after his suspension, Rao Anwar is likely to be reinstated as the Malir SSP after a meeting with the PPP leadership in Dubai. A notification in this regard is expected to be issued soon, according to official sources. On September 16, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had suspended Anwar for arresting Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Khawaja Izharul Hasan in a raid at his residence without ‘taking the government into confidence.’ On September 19, Anwar challenged the decision in the Sindh High Court, maintaining that the raid was legal. The same day Javed Akbar Riaz was appointed SSP Malir. An inquiry team investigating Anwar is yet to release its findings.
