Valuables recovered: Woman arrested for looting hitchhikers

Aabpara police had registered a snatching and theft case after the incident

ISLAMABAD: At least one suspected gangster has been arrested by the Special Investigation Unit on Saturday. According to the police, the arrested woman is part of a gang that loots hitchhikers.

Police have also recovered stolen gold earrings, bangles, and rings from the suspect who has been identified as Hina Shahzadi.

According to details, Shahzadi, along with her accomplice Naziran Bibi, offered a ride to a woman near Polyclinic hospital on June 3 this year. They snatched gold ornaments from her when they reached Zero Point. Aabpara police had registered a snatching and theft case after the incident.

Naziran Bibi, is currently in Sahiwal district jail as another case is registered against her by the Vehari police. According to the police, the process to transfer Naziran Bibi from Sahiwal to Islamabad has been initiated.

Police say Shahzadi has also confessed to multiple incidents of looting hitchhikers in Rawalpindi, Vehari, Sadiqabad, Rahimyar Khan and Lahore districts.
