Imran out of Asian snooker tournament
Ace cueist knocked out before quarters.
Imran Shahzad ended with two wins in three matches of the second round but failed to qualify for the last-eight of the inaugural Asian 6-Reds Snooker Championship underway in Thailand.
The Pakistan number one cueist, however, had the consolation of winning his last match against Mubarakal Owais of Kuwait 5-0. The win came as consolation after his loss against India’s Kamal Chawla 5-3, a result that knocked him out of the tournament.
Shahzad was ruthless against Owais as he comfortably won the five frames. Chawla plays compatriot Brijesh Daman in the quarter-final. Shahzad had earlier also beaten UAE’s Mustafa Shehab in a closely-contested encounter 5-4 to finish second in the last-32.
