Islam promotes peace, tranquility and mutual respect for all philosophies that are vital to ensure a sustainable state. This was said by MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti at a seminar on ‘Peace, tolerance and harmony’ organised by Punjab Government Public Relations Directorate.
Former parliamentarian Syed Tabish Alweri in his address said the culture of democracy promotes peace which must be nurtured by all stakeholders.
Prominent intellectual Professor Dr Aslam Adeeb urged special attention for proper socialisation among younger generations to institutionalise cultural values of peace and tolerance.
Father Iftikhar Moon said that enlightened and progressive education was critical to restructuring the new platform of cultural and civilisational harmony. Islamia University History Department Chairman Dr Shahid Rizvi said that peace is a pre-requisite to have sustainable sociology of socio-economic development.
