ISLAMABAD:
At least three men allegedly involved in stealing electricity transformers have been arrested by Islamabad police.
According to details, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested the suspects as they were trying to steal a 50 kilovolts electric transformer.
They also recovered the truck which they were using to transport the stolen transformer.
The suspects have been identified as Shahbaz Ahmed, Adnan Saqib, and Muhammad Ashraf.
According to the police, the gangsters confessed to stealing at least nine transformers from various areas of the city over a decade between 2002 and 2014. However, the police believe that the gang also stole transformers from Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Lahore districts.
