Benefitting student: Pact inked to promote research, education
55 Pakistani students are enrolled at Chinese university

In a bid to enhance collaboration in the fields of education and research, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University China and University of Agriculture Faisalabad inked Memorandum of Understanding on Monday.
The agreement was signed by UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and FAFU president Dr Lan Siren during a ceremony which was held at the university.
As part of the agreement, both institutions will work towards research and capacity building initiatives, student-faculty exchange programme, preparation of joint research proposals and other areas of mutual concern.
On the occasion, You Yang Chen said such initiatives would help boost morale of the students and they will be able to learn from each other’s experiences.
He said 160 international students were studying from 44 countries in FAFU. He further said 55 Pakistani students were also enrolled in different disciplines in the varsity.
You Yang Chen maintained 10 PhD scholars from UAF will be admitted to FAFU for PhD programmes each year. The university has initiated a unique program in Bee Sciences.
Meanwhile, UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said the university was housing a Confucius Institute that was among the best institutions in the country. He said at least 31 UAF faculty members had studied from China.
