Annie Khalid of Mahiya fame shared a personal post about her second marriage and divorce and it went viral - for all the right reasons.

Societal norms enable women to be belittled if she chooses to break free of an abusive or toxic marriage. Annie, in her emotional yet powerful posts scribes that she is indeed 'sick' of the abuse hurled at her for getting married twice.

The singer also addressed how women are constantly blamed for the failure of marriage and how they don't try hard enough to sustain the relationship. Moreover, the women who are supposed to be supportive during testing times often lack empathy which is utterly hurtful for those going through such a tough ordeal.

Ali S | 7 years ago | Reply That was a refreshingly good article to read - I'm not a fan of her work, but she nailed it with that post. Pakistan has a problem with marrying divorcees but no problem with forcing little girls into marriage - that's quite disturbing.
