ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned a terrorist attack on a gendarmerie checkpoint in Semdinli district of Turkey’s Hakkari province, resulting in the loss of a number of lives.

“Pakistan condemns this mindless act of terrorism in the strongest possible terms. We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families and to the fraternal people and the government of Turkey.

“We also pray for the speediest and fullest recovery of the wounded,” a press release of the Foreign Office said.

Pakistan also reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in “all its forms and manifestations”.

The Foreign Office said the people of Pakistan stood “in a biding solidarity” with Turkey because “the Turkish brethren wage their resolute fight against terrorism”.

“There is no doubt that those seeking to disturb peace, stability and internal harmony of Turkey would never succeed,” it added.
