The committee held detailed discussion on the point of order of Saqibullah Khan Chamkani regarding establishment of a separate feeder for the Institute of Kidney Diseases (IKD) at Hayatabad.
Khan expressed anger and sought an explanation from the FIA officials why did they stop Pesco authorities from initiating work on the feeder.
He directed the Pesco chief and FIA authorities to make a joint visit to the site on February 18 and present a report in the next committee meeting on February 21, and to start work on the feeder as soon as possible.
Earlier, Pesco chief Muhammad Wali said that the company has prepared a statement for installation of a separate 800KW feeder for the IKD at a cost of Rs11.38 million. The distance from the grid to the line for the IKD is about three kilometres.
He said Pesco has no other technical option nor is it trying to offer benefits to any third party or demanding any extra payment.
However, he maintained that efforts were on to complete the scheme before this summer to avoid problems for industrial and domestic consumers.
