Pakistan People's Party's (PPP) chairman said on Friday he had never called Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif a traitor, rather he was targeting 'Modi-Nawaz friendship'.

"I cannot never think about calling the country's Prime Minister a traitor," Bilawal told reporters after a meeting with Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad.

"I never said such thing for the premier, instead I called friends of [Indian Prime Minister Narendra] Modi as traitors."

The PPP leader went on to say that he neither ever termed him 'traitor', nor anything indecent against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain.

"Never in my life I called uncle Altaf a traitor and I never used such words about him," Bilawal said, adding that the MQM founder has been and will remain as a political reality of Karachi.

Praising the JUI-F chief, the PPP chairperson said he also considered Maulana Fazl as his uncle. “I had asked Fazlur Rehman to urge the premier resolve the issue of Panama Papers leaks.”
