Imran calls on public to reach Islamabad on October 30

PTI chairman pushes PPP for ‘minus-Zardari’ formula

Imran had earlier given PM Nawaz time till Muharram after which he said PTI would shut down the capital

Days after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief threatened to shut the capital following Muharram, Imran Khan has asked his supporters to reach the Islamabad on October 30 as part of his anti-corruption campaign.

“Do not be afraid of anything... step out on October 30,” he told reporters in the capital on Thursday.

Imran on September 30 at the party's 'Raiwind March' asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to present himself for accountability till Muharram else the PTI would bring the capital to a standstill.

In April this year, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) published a fraction of the data leaked under the Panama Papers investigation, naming about 640 Pakistanis as beneficiaries of offshore holdings.

PTI springs surprise, boycotts joint session after Kashmir caucus

The PTI chairman said either “Nawaz Sharif resigns and another prime minister from the PML-N takes charge or the PM presents himself for investigation”.

Commenting on his party’s decision to boycott the Parliament's joint session on Kashmir, Imran said he couldn't shake hands and raise slogans against Nawaz Sharif at the same time. "Bilawal attended the session even after he chanted slogans against Nawaz Sharif."

Pushes for ‘minus-Zardari’

Meanwhile, the PTI chairman suggested Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders to replicate the MQM’s minus-one formula, and get rid of co-chairperson Asif Zardari.

“I suggest the PPP to go for minus one formula like the MQM did because that's the only way they can survive politically,” he said. “Zardari has caused more destruction to the PPP than any dictator could do.”
