Csr Initiative: Police stations get computers

ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Police, in order to enhance its crime control capabilities, have devised a plan to link all the police stations through a computer network. For the purpose, around 300 computers and paraphernalia were provided by a private firm to the Islamabad police at a simple ceremony. IG Tariq Masooq Yasin was present at the computers handing over ceremony held at the Islamabad Safe City Project site. DIG (Headquarters) Khalid Khattak, in his welcome address, said police were evolving a vigilance mechanism to control the crime rate in the federal capital. Managing Director (Defence Security) of Huawei Pakistan Brig (retd) Asif Mehmood said the firm was collaborating with government departments and law enforcement agencies, providing them information and communication technology solutions
